HR Manager - Costa Rica

This role manages the overall provision of Human Resources services and programs for the Costa Rica site. As part of the global HR team, the role has responsibility for leading and participating in the development and implementation of the global HR projects. Aligning leaders, managers, and employees around engagement and putting strategy to action. This is a full-time onsite role with one WFH day every week.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Formulate, align, and execute HR strategies and initiatives that align with the broader global business objectives.
• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, performance management, and succession planning. · Ensures a safe and compliant workplace by promoting a culture of safety, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to safety protocols, and staying updated on relevant safety regulations and best practices.
· Partner with managers to retain and develop talent through identifying competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps. Areas of activity will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training, and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge.
• Employee relations, including grievance, performance and disciplinary procedures and investigations
• Delivering high levels of HR Service to all levels of management and employees. Work in partnership with managers across the business to proactively deliver purposeful and innovative HR solutions in line with changing business needs.
• Policy development and documentation, compensation and benefits administration
• As part of the HR Team monitor an annual budget
• Participate in the development of the company's plans and programs as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. • Work closely with global HR managers (US and UK) to ensure consistency across the geographic areas of the business.
• Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the goals of the company.
• Facilitates training programs. Provides necessary training to managers and employees according with the company’s goals.
• Leads competitive market research to establish pay practices that help to recruit and retain superior staff.
• Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
• Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) are global priorities. As a member of the global HR team, the HR Manager collaborates with the Local Leadership Team on the company’s CSR activities.
Essential:
· Minimum 10 years of HR experience at the professional level.
· Proven track record in delivering high levels of HR Service to all levels of management and employees.
· Experience of working within a manufacturing organisation
· Previous line management experience of administration staff.
· Commercially astute with a good understanding of the practical application of HR
· A strong team-player with a flexible attitude and the ability to use own initiative.
· Able to manage the pressure of high volumes of work within a fast paced and changing environment.
· Extensive knowledge of HR Systems including reporting functionality
· Advanced PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook skills. Additional technical knowledge of audio-visual and videoconference facilities across multi-sites
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Collaborator, professional and confident
· Resilience and persistence to deal with people at all levels and promotes the interests of the company.
· Ability to work under pressure, manage own time effectively and impeccable multi-tasking ability.
· Advance English level required verbal and written.
· Strong legislative background – Costa Rica
· Highly organized with the ability to manage time and utilize resources effectively.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse and interpret data. · Able to switch between strategic and functional thinking.
